Overview

Forseti is a platform helping sim and real-world drivers track their progress, build a verified Driver ID, and connect with the wider motorsport community. Becoming a Forseti driver is free, and includes driver identification and session recording, personal telemetry review, the ability to share progress and build a following, and an XP rating system that reflects real performance.

The challenge

Motorsport has always been limited by access. Forseti's mission is to change that, giving every driver the tools to build an identity, track progression, and be seen, regardless of budget or background. When I joined the project, the idea was strong and the structure was in place, and some base visual styling already existed. What was missing was the UX and UI needed to make it work as a product: there was no efficient design system, and several core flows hadn't been designed with real usage in mind.

The approach

  • Ran a stakeholder workshop with the founders and engineering team to align on priorities and constraints
  • Built the base foundations and design system the product was missing
  • Designed and iterated across the core product experience in tight loops, testing directly with a highly-engaged Discord community of real drivers:
    • Onboarding
    • Dashboard and activity feed
    • Training log
    • Verified driver profiles and feed
    • Driving telemetry
    • Lap comparison tool
    • In-game overlay session recording and journey

Working this close to an active, vocal user community meant design decisions were tested and validated in near real time, rather than guessed at.

The outcome

Within weeks of launch:

  • 98.46% onboarding completion rate
  • 62% of users actively uploaded session data
  • An average of 2 to 3 sessions per week per user
"The ease of use of Forseti is one of my favourite things about it. No hassle, really easy to use and set up, and it's amazing to interact and share with the sim racing community."

"Forseti is one of the best learning tools for drivers wanting to get better at sim racing and even real racing. It's definitely helped me get ready for my 2026 season. You can learn from some of the best in the business, all in an app that's super easy to use and understand. Would highly recommend."

Reflection

The strongest part of this project was the feedback loop: designing in close contact with an engaged community meant nothing shipped untested, and the onboarding and retention numbers reflect that discipline. It's a good example of what's possible when product design is treated as a continuous conversation with real users, not a one-off handoff.

The building blocks: type, colour, components, all in one place.

Where the numbers get honest. Drill by drill.

User interface showing a multi-step sign-up and profile creation process for a racing app.

Sign up, get racing. No faff.

Speed, throttle, brake, gear. All the good stuff.
